چکیده

A pot experiment was conducted to measure the phyto-tolerance and accumulation of heavy metals in petroleum oily sludge POS by Cajanus cajan (pigeon pea) on soils treated with five different concentrations (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% w/w) POS. The response plant varied significantly from untreated control among various treatments. growth C. slightly (but not significantly) influenced soil; at relatively lower (1 3%) greater than treatments higher (4 5%). significant interaction observed relative rates (RGRs) cajan, which increased low decrease concentrations. metal content roots as were increase show that concentration all accordingly. Cu showed highest an 1.9 6.8 mg/kg followed Pb, Zn, Ni, Mn, Cr, least-accumulated. Heavy analysis tissues indicated a considerable Cu, Cr root stem plant, negligible detected leaves, suggesting translocation factor but indicating is resistant metals. As search for more eco-friendly sustainable remediating green continues, shows great potential reclaiming POS-contaminated soil due above properties including resistance toxic sludge. These findings will provide solutions polluted their subsequent re-vegetation.

Bioremediation of heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons in diesel contaminated soil with the earthworm: Eudrilus eugeniae

A laboratory study on the bioremediation of diesel contaminated soil with the earthworm Eudrilus eugeniae (Kingberg) was conducted. 5 ml of diesel was contaminated into soils in replicates and inoculated with E. eugeniae for 90 days. Physicochemical parameters, heavy metals and total petroleum hydrocarbons were analyzed using AAS. BTEX in contaminated soil and tissues of earthworms were determi...

Bioremediation of oily sludge-contaminated soil by stimulating indigenous microbes.

In situ bioremediation of oily sludge-contaminated soil by biostimulation of indigenous microbes through adding manure was conducted at the Shengli oilfield in northern China. After bioremediation for 360 days, total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) content was reduced by 58.2% in the treated plots compared with only 15.6% in the control plot. Moreover, bioremediation significantly improved the phys...

Antioxidant status of pigeon pea, Cajanus cajan in the presence of endosulfan stress.

Antioxidative status study was made in cotyledons of 7days old as well as in leaf and stem tissues of 30 and 60 days old pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) namely Asha and Maruti subjected to different doses of endosulfan in the range 0.1-1.0%. The results revealed that the activities of the antioxidative enzymes and the antioxidant contents such as the super oxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), re...

COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF PIGEON PEA (Cajanus cajan) FLOUR AND PROTEIN ISOLATE

Pigeon Pea seeds (Cajanus cajan) were produced into three different flour samples; full fat, defatted and protein isolate. They were subjected to proximate analysis and determination of some functional properties. Proximate composition was carried out on moisture content, protein content, fat content, carbohydrate, ash content and crude fibre content. The proximate analysis (%) shoed that prote...
